The Corner Office was just the ticket to assuage your ego and deliver a message to the world. It said something. The Corner Office said you were IN! In the know. In the inner circle. In … Just plain IN. It was a thing.

Evolution is wondrous, isn’t it? Somewhere along the line companies got smart. The coveted Corner Office kinda disappeared. You may have noticed this sweeping change, if you weren’t trapped in a dark cave somewhere. The Open Space Concept took on the world of business with a fever. Friendly competition and cooperation began to emerge quickly and far better than when everyone was sequestered away in cubicles, much less being tucked away in a Corner Office somewhere. Open spaces in which to gather and work built collaboration with other like minded co-workers. CEO’s loved mixing and mingling in the relaxed atmosphere of the work space lounge or the corporate gym or the onsite cafeteria, tapping into innovative minds like never before. Guess what. It was a thing.

Yep, we’ve now evolved beyond the open space concept with the onset of our ever expanding technical advances and amazing enhancements in communications. We no longer rely on those in our own physical environment to help us develop new ideas, build skills or fine tune our thought processes. Now, in a split second we can tap into peers and mentors around the globe and across many different specializations of expertise besides our own. Indeed: The whole world is our oyster.
